If you’re looking for “friendly” go no further than Mercier’s Fastop in Oconto Falls.

The day begins with store regulars coming in for coffee and the latest local news. Store Manager Arlene Van Hoff and her staff know most folks by name. She says they’re not just neighbors, they’re friends.

“We usually solve the world’s problems and we offer advice at no charge!” Van Hoff says.

A little less than 3,000 people live in Oconto Falls and the Fastop is located in a great part of town, less than a block from the community park. In the summer, the store sees a lot of customers looking for quick snacks and cold drinks. As it gets colder, there’s a hot coffee, sandwiches from the attached Subway, and even hand warmers.

The Fastop carries 25 scratch games. Van Hoff and the staff always have time to talk with customers about the Lottery’s new games. After all, their day runs from 5:00 a.m. to 11 p.m.
